Outcomes
- The percentage of Multilingual Learners in grades K-3 meeting or exceeding VALLS screener benchmarks will increase by 5 percentage points from fall 2024 to spring 2025.
- 80% of students in grades K-3 will meet or exceed the VALLSS screener benchmarks by spring 2025.
Strategies:
- Increase intentional use of multisensory visual, verbal, written and/or interactive scaffolds and supports in whole group settings.
- Increase opportunities for students to develop oral language through pair and small group structures that promote engagement.
- Increase efficiency of instructional delivery to ensure all students have daily access to all components of language arts block as outlined in the new core curriculum.
Elementary School Math
Outcomes
- By the end of the 2024-25 school year the percentage passing the grade 3-6 Mathematics SOL will increase from 78% to 83%.
- By the end of the 2024-25 school year the percentage of multilingual students passing the grade 3-6 Mathematics SOL will increase from 52% to 80%.
Strategies:
- Increase formal collaboration between classroom teachers and ESOL teachers to develop the language of mathematics through the use of embedded strategies during whole group and small group instruction.
- Increase teacher's implementation of strategies and conversation structures that increase academic talk between students related to Shift 4; from show and tell to share and compare.
- Increase teacher implementation of explicit instruction and other components of effective mathematics intervention.

Outcomes
- By the end of the 2024-2025 school year, 100% of students will learn about, use, and apply POG skills in their core classes and specials and will collect evidence using their electronic portfolio.
Strategies
- Design and implement meaningful learning experiences such as performance tasks and PBL, where projects (Resource 1) begin with a driving question and culminate in students creating a product, solving a problem, or delivering a presentation that can be shared with the wider community.
- Create portfolios (Resource 1) dedicated to documenting growth in POG/ATL attributes and skills.
- Engage students in reflection and planning (Resource 1) to share their growth in a presentation of learning.
