Ms. Breslin, Principal Mohr Recognized at FCPS Honors!
Congratulations to Principal Monica Mohr who was recognized at the annual FCPS Honors event as the 2019 Region 5 Outstanding New Principal and one of five finalists for this year's Outstanding New Principal Award!
Since Principal Mohr has been at Little Run Elementary, she has worked diligently to build staff capacity, forge meaningful relationships, and instill the importance of kindness and hard work in students. Ms. Mohr encourages and supports staff to always do what is best for student learning—whether it is having students engage in Academic Conversations, introducing Project Based Learning, or initiating a new format for kindergarten class placement. Ms. Mohr strives to make Little Run the place where parents, staff, and students are proud to call home. “Her commitment to staff and families is inspiring,” shared one teacher, “Ms. Mohr seems to be able to take anything thrown her way and create success.”

Ms. Breslin's impact throughout the Little Run community has been impressive. Her core values of building relationships, connecting to our community, and creating meaningful opportunities for students to learn is what makes Ms. Breslin a vital community member. “Miss Breslin’s greatest strength,” a colleague said, “is her ability to build positive relationships and make meaningful connections with her students.” Not only is she academically available for her students inside and outside of school, she is always available emotionally. She spends many lunches and weekends spending time with students and families. Colleagues commend her positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to help. A parent expressed: “We are so thankful and grateful for Miss Breslin’s teaching style, dedication, and commitment to help her students.”
